I know the tittle sounds too good to be true. Tell you what, it is true! Yes, I'm going to show you how to get it for free and guess what it won't take you that long. Here are a few downsides which is only one, YOU CAN NOT USE THIS VERSION OF VMWARE FOR COMMERCIAL USE. Now that we got that out of the way, let's get started.
Step 1
Visit the VMware Website.
Step 2
Once you are at the homepage of the website. A the far left there is going to be a "Downloads" link. Click on that. (see picture below)
Step 3
Now you have selected the "Downloads" and it is going to display a menu with a bunch of downloads. Look at the downloads all the way on the right under the option "Free Product download" and Vmware Player will be the third option from the top. (see picture below)
Step 4
I am guessing you have already clicked on the VMware link. Good job mate! The is going to be two download option one for Windows and one for Linux. Pick the one you want and it will take a couple of minutes to download based on your internet speed.
